Infill Housing on Battleaxe Block

This project was finalist in the 2014 HIA Housing Awards

Located on a small lot, the aim was to create a home that took advantage of the district views whilst screening adjacent development and maintaining the privacy of adjacent landowners.

Living areas are on the upper level and open onto a north facing terrace. Bedrooms are on the lover level. The form is highly articulated to reduce its apparent scale.

Varying ceiling heights defines the kitchen area.

The timber clad balustrade screens adjacent development.

The entrance opens onto the lower terrace.

Careful detailing & a limited materials palette extends throughout the project.
